my gr gr grandfather was thomas and my gr gr grandmother was obedience wise they were married 18 1825 in oglethorp Co. Ga. and according to the oglethorp Co. census of 1830 they still lived ther and had one daughter under the age of five. they moved to mississippi sometime after 1830 and had a daughter born in 1835 in mississippi also had a son born in 1838 in mississippi their names were sasannah katherine and john t.. sometime before 1840 they moved to arkansas and were in chicot county Ar. according to the 1840 census of chicot Co. Ar. there were two children listed in the census of 1840 along with some other folks listed in the same household but the daughter listed in the 1830 census of oglethorp Co. Ga. is missing therefore i assume that she died sometime between 1830 and 1840. another daughter was born in chicot Co. Ga. by the name of permilia j.. they moved to drew Co. Ar. sometime before 1846, when drew county was formed the first county officials was named and thomas was the first coronor of drew Co. a son was born in 1846 by the name of james monroe and another son was born in 1849 by the name on franklin christopher. they all were listed in the 1850 cenmsus of drew Co. Ar.. franklin christopher was my gr. grandfather and my great grandmother was amanda e. savage they had five children they were amos thomas, viola, james franklin terry, rebecca, and samuel monroe. amos thomas was my graddfather and he married mary magaline stuard and they had eight children that lived they were margaret virginia, james arthur, william henry, oliver walter, herbert lee, thomas edison, george daniel, and nancy magaline. william henry was my father and he married audrey willie baker and they had five children that lived they were arthur william thomas, betty ann, bobby dean, barbara jean and linda sue. i have checked and checked and i have come to the conclusion that thomas was not born in Ga but instead he was born in bedford co. Va. his father died when he was only maby 7 years old and he came to georgia jackson Co. with his grandfather who died in 1814 i lost track of thomas till his marrage to obedience wise in 1825 i am still looking and i am also looking for pictures of thomas and obedience also of my great grand father franklin i have them from my grandfather amos forward. i dont know if this will help you or not but you can see if it fits i would be glad to share any information with you or anyone about this line of the hales family, art.
