Most recently known ancestor is Agatha Jane Hale (aka Exa) married Ruben Ammons in either Alabama or NW Florida. She was born in Alabama about 1854. She died about 1921 in Jackson County, FL. On Exa's death certificate it names her Father as John Hale. I believe it is her Father that is buried beside her at Otter Creek Cemetery in Holmes County, FL with Civil War regimental info. A search of Company B, First FL Reg. CSA does not produce a John Hale. John Hall doesn't pan out either as John Hall died in Tampa, FL in 1910. Anywho, last bit of info is a Nancy Hale receives a bounty of land as the widow of John Hale of Holmes County, FL in 1900. No mother is listed on Exa's death certificate so Nancy is most likely a step-mother. A Martha Luna Hale and Mary Hale also marry into the Ammons family.
Other Hales in the Walton and Holmes County, FL area are Samuel Hale and Hannah Hale, which are the known children of Daivd Hale and Celia Elliott. Samuel Hale married Jane Moates in Pike County, AL before moving to Holmes County, FL. I believe John is a sibbling of Samuel and Hannah's, son of David Hale and Celia Elliott.
Daivd Hale is one of the many sons of Samuel (Cheif Far Off) Hale and Hannah Hale of FishPonds, AL.
