Brian,
I looked at the 1840 Census for Smith C. again. The name is Reubin Hall, but he seems to be in the same area as Reubin Hale in 1830.Do you know when Rebin moved to Mo.?I have found people counted on two different censuses. If he moved during the year, it might still be him.I find no other record of a Reubin Hall.Very strange.Your Reubin seems to live in the area where several Gregory families live.I have found this is a good way to pin point where people lived. That is how I found our Joseph Hale.It took me several years, but I looked for any families that lived around him until I found him.The Driver family turned out to be his sister's family.I have done this with several families.I do not see any Weaver families in Smith Co.Where did Reubin marry? The first marriage book for Smith Co. is missing. We have searched several times and no one seems to know what happened to it.It would certainly help fill in many blanks.Smith Co. has many of their old records stored in the basement of the Courthouse and they are kept under lock and key. When we were there one man had the key and you could only get in when he was there. He was very old and things may have changed.
I will see what else I can come up with.
Nell
