Tony,

I am trying to find a John Haldeman who would have been born c. 1770, who had a son, Christian (1793-1863), m. Susannah Spohn, who lived in Lancaster Co., PA. (I suspect that the Christian Haldeman who appears in Donegal Twp. in the 1820 census is the same one, as "Godleib Spoon" lives close by, and the one son under 10 matches Christian's son, John Spohn Haldeman, who was born in 1819. He is living near sons of John Haldeman and Maria Brenneman.)

A biographical sketch of John Spohn Haldeman lists his grandfather as John Haldeman.

The only possibilities I've found for John Haldeman b. c 1770 are:
Grandsons of Jacob and Maria Miller, through his sons Christian and Jacob

Son of Christian and Anna Neukommt

Great-grandsons of Christian and Christianna Kneissley through Jacob & Jacob or John & John.

However, all of these lines had moved to VA. Do you have any information that would point to any of these descendants having returned to Lancaster Co.?

Any ideas??

Thanks!

Patty
