Simon's answers in the message below are excellent. The death certificate is the ideal way to proceed.

I searched the OPR records I have in my research office here and was unable to find a marriage of a Christian Milne to a Hadden/Halden/Haldane. I did find a Christian Halden married to an Anexander Miln in 1799 at Arbroath, Angus, Scotland, but that is a very unlikely match.

If you wish to pursue a faster, albeit expensive, method - the site http://www.origins.net/GRO has Scottish records on-line for a fee.

I have nothing further on this Mrs. Milne/Haldane in my records. I would be interested, however, in anything you may turn up.

All the best,
Father John Haldane
