Thanks for your reply. My husband is descendant of William Caloway Halcomb and Katie Coots, (Cootch), who lived in Harlan KY and raised 2 children, but when Katie died young, Caloway moved back to Brodhead, married a Claudia Reynolds, and they had some children. My questions are: I found in a book that he is buried in Piney Grove Cemetery, can you confirm that? I also can't find him in the census.
Also, where was his second wife from? Did she ever marry again? I have a list of some of the children, from another relative in that family, but would love to know more detail. How did Caloway die, what kind of illness, etc? I also know he was a Mason, but don't have any good records except a picture with the Mason symbol on it. Any other personal, interesting info about his life would be nice. Caloway's son John Riley is our line. We are wondering what became of Nervesta Halcomb? Do you know about her (from first marriage) I think she lived in Broadhead. We have a beautiful picture of Caloway, John Riley and Nervesta together when they were young. Would be glad to share it.
SOme of John Riley's children are still living in KY, and I feel sure they would like top connect with the living relatives of Caloway if possible in some way.
