I am afraid that I cannot agree with Randy Jones listing of Mary Cooke d/o John Cooke s/o Mordecai Cooke. I have searched the Virginia Colonial Abstracts and find nothing that ties Mordecai Cook to the Halbert family. John Cooke s/o Mordecai md. Ann Todd and Mary Smith. Mordecai was born abt 1649. If Mary is his grand-daughter, she is only twenty-eight years younger than he is! She is not Mordecai's grand-daughter and certainly not his daughter. His daughter, Mary, md. Thomas Booth in 1701. There is no Thomas Wood mentioned anywhere. The key documentation is not in the VA Colonial Abstracts.

This family connection would be nice, but I cannot make it fit.
