My line is from what is now the Czech Republic. They where Hökel. They were found in Domasov now called Thomasdorf. My Czech researcher traced them back to Elbe in 1700, now called Labe and then one earlier generation from a small village west of there called Glasdorfel now called Sklene where the records stopped. All these are in Moravia now Czech Republic. They were german speaking and probably sent by the ruling Hapsburg's Austrian-Hungary empire to settle what was then the eastern frontier, Moravia.
Very near (2-3 miles)Elbe is a small town called Jindrichov which was formerly Hennersdorf. There are three Jindrichov towns in the area from near Oloumouc to the what is now the Polish border.I have often wondered which of these did your Hakl branch come from.I have been exchanging information with Bobbi Dale Mayfield in this regard.I would be willing to exchange info.Contact me direct at lhakel @ earthlink.net
