Hakes & Cleveland marriage. Living in Stratford, Iowa 1870's-1890's

The youngest daughter of Nelson Bliss Cleveland 1815NY-1890IA and Lydia Ammack (d.1877) married a Hakes and lived in Stratford, IA. I have Nelson's obit. and only 2 of his 5 children were still living in Jan. 1890 when he died.

Nelson Bliss Cleveland & Lydia were married Feb 28, 1839 in Tompkins Co., NY. Their 1st child born 1839NY was Adelia Emily Cleveland who married in WI in 1856 Albert Augustus Wicks b1828WI. The Clevelands lived in WI from 1845-1866 and then moved to Hamilton Co., IA. After his wife died in 1877, Nelson lived with his daughter Mrs. Hakes in Stratford, IA until his death in 1890.

The obit. of Nelson Cleveland was pasted into the scrapbook of my gg-grandmother Hattie Louise Hopkins 1868 IA - 1955 OH. Hattie would have been age 22 in 1890. She was the d/o William Henry Hopkins b1838 NY & mother Kate Moore b1845 NY. Hattie married Jay L. Haddox in 1886 in Boone Co., IA. I'm thinking the Clevelands & Hopkins were related. Hattie & Jay lived in Webster City, Hamilton Co., Iowa their entire married life.

Looking for any clues to these folks and relation to each other. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lee
