Louis Décembre 1760
Posted by: Padovani Paul Date: December 28, 2001 at 07:50:59

While searching for my grand-mother's ascendants, Marie Decembre, born in 1873
in Bastia (Corsica - France), I have discovered that her ggf, Louis Decembre was
born in Haiti.

Louis got married on October 23, 1811 in Bastia and the record show that he had
declared being born in Port-au-Prince, Saint Domingue.
He was 51 years old at the time (according to his declaration), therefore born
in or around 1760.
His parents were Louis Decembre and Marie Marthe (I don't know if Marthe is her
middle name or her surname).

The witnesses of the wedding were Etienne ROVANNEZ, 49 years, resident in Cap
Francais (Saint Domingue) and Jean Baptiste TOUREAUX, owner in Saint Domingue (I
find this curious because the independance of Haiti had taken place 7 years
earlier).

These translation was kindly done by Augusta B. Elmwoold and Jean Pierre Marill.
Thank you for all informations.
Greeting.
Paul.
