Hi and thank you for the information.
Now, by chance, would you have information what port of call was around that time, Cape Haitien or some other name? I would like to be able to find ship records from the mid to late 1700s. My grandfather, COURBIERE, was a sailor in that time frame. It leads me to believe one of two things: Slave ship; or smuggling for the new country-to-be during its revolution, USA. I know he last sailed around the 1770s, he is in New Orleans in the 1775 - 1778 time frame. greg
