Découzé

Hello,
I am french and my family name is DECOUZE.
I saw on the net that Découzé is a location in Haiti and also that a data base has four people called with this name.
In my researchs about my family's genealogy, I did not find any information about ancestors going to Haiti but I am very eager to find out anything about "découzé", the village (or town), origin, location... and also the family name.
Here in France, the name of DECOUZE is not common at all (about 50 people alive).
We are from the center of France, in the AUVERGNE region, near ISSOIRE in the department of "Puy de Dome" along the Couze river. The origin of my branch is around the villages of Saint Floret, Saint Cirgues sur couze, Saint Vincent, Saurier, Champeix, Tourzel... By now, I found the name until 1684 in Saint Floret.
As it is a poor area, many inhabitants had to leave and I would not be surprised to find a branch of "Decouze" in Haiti.
Thank you so much to anybody who could give me informations or contacts to go further.
Jean-Louis DECOUZE
