Saint Domingan Refugees to Charleston, SC
Posted by: Lee (ID *****1892) Date: May 22, 2008 at 10:45:54

I am currently doing research on Saint Domingan refugees to Charleston, SC from 1791 to about 1840. I would like to know what any of you know about the whereabouts or actions of your ancestors during this time period. Really anything that you know about their movements from France to the Caribbean and then to the port cities of the US would be of tremendous help, but especially Charleston.

I would be insanly grateful for any private papers, journals, photos, if any exist, that you could share with me.

Also, I have information on many of the surnames listed previously in this forum. Just ask.

I am keeping a blog of my research at lfroueche@wordpress.com if anyone is interested.
