Hi, JoJo...I posted to your post in the Germany forum....
My bloodline, Raison de la Geneste, married into the Ridore line, in St.Domingo, during the latter part of the 1700's.
Unless they had children together, there's no actual genetic relationship; but, I feel that at least some came to the US...by way of NOLA, or NY, as I've found what appears to be variations of the name, (I'm told) such as Ryder/Ritter/Ridder/Rader etc, in So.Louisiana as well as in Brooklyn NY, where I've also found other surnames, connected to the Ridore/o family. Thanks for posting...
