Although this thread is quite old, it shows Jacques Baudouin, son of Solon Baudouin marrying Marie Massiot instead of Francois Durand. This Jacques had a son named Charles or Jean-Charles who moved to Jacquemelle, in Saint-Dominque (Saint-Domingue was a French colony from 1697 to 1804 that is today the independent nation of Haiti) in the Caribbean. There are descendants with the name Baudoin des Marattes who live/lived in Haiti. I have also seen the reference showing "Francois Baudouin, who was born on St Domingue in 1741. His father, also Francois, was in the miltary and emigrated to Louisiana at some point
between his birth and the first Louisiana records around 1751-2." From what I could tell, the Louisiana Baudouin line did not come from Quebec so it is quite possible they came from Haiti.

Interesting stuff, but how does this fit in? Specifically, did Solon have 2 sons named Jacques? Does one of the Jacques have a different father? Does anyone have any further information on this?

A very confused
