I don't know...it just know it sounded like your family may have been there during the same circumstances and that many died during the slave uprisings..over some period of time. It's hard to imagine that people were trying to get into St. Dom, during such a bloody time, unless they were mercenaries and maybe the portuguese/Lebanese, etc did go in to help put down the rebellion; but I don't think they'd have been taking their families. Altho mine were in St.Domingo, fled to Cuba and then to New Orleans and KY/VA; it was over a few years period of time during the later 1700's and early 1800's. I know some fled to Austrailia, Canada...Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, etc...but I'm just poking around in the dark, trying to hit a nerve, somewhere, myself. Thanks for the response!
