Hello all... I am searching for ANY information on the Vialet family of Haiti. It is believed that my VIALET family living in the U.S. Virgin Islands (many have migrated to New York) are descendants of the VIALET in Haiti. My 3rd great grandfater is Charles VIALET. He married Frances Palomia. Their son Antoine VIALET was born in 1841 in St. Thomas.
===MY SEARCH IN HAITI===
I'd appreciate any informatin on the VIALET family or the origin of the VIALET village in south Haiti. I am told that it was named after a French planter. Anyone knows where I can find information about this French VIALET planter?
I'm also looking for information on the parents of Louis VIALET. Louis' family has written me and said that his father was a VIALET from Haiti who might have migrated to Cuba.
Louis VIALET was tailor from Havana, Cuba born in the early-mid 1800's. His spouse was CATALINA MONTERRA. I do not know if they were married. He had a son named Alfredo VIALET and a son named Louis VIALET too.
Even if you don't have info on this particular family, I'd appreciate ANY INFORMATION you might have on the VIALET of Haiti. Anything! :) The surname might also be spelled Vialette or Viallet - among other ways.
