I am descended from Sully Francis Guenveur of Charleston, SC. I don't have all the info in front of me at the moment, but there are Roumillats in our line as well. We've traced them to Brittany, to some parish there. They were Catholics.

Once I get home from work later on today, I can dig up the info and post it here. S.F. Guenveur was my GGGrandfather on my maternal grandfather's side of the family. He married Amelia Watkins, daughter of Michael Watkins of Monmouthshire, Wales, and Jane Staight Lambert Watkins. Their daughter Lucille married William Sidney Harper, son of Albert Sidney Harper of Alabama and Mary Sarah Rebecca Fitzpatrick Harper (I think she was from Alambama as well, but died intestate in Piedmont, WV and was buried in an unmarked pauper's grave.)

Their son was my grandfather, Sidney Guenveur Harper, who married Mary (called Mae) Cecilia Williams, daughter of John Williams and Mary Elizabeth Long Williams. John's mother and Mary's parents were all Irish immigrants to Massachusetts.

Their daughter Guenveur Harper is my mom. She married John Phillips Burnell, Jr., who died when I was 4 in 1961.

Hope that helps somewhat.
