John Hainline
John and his brother, George, married into my Husted family.I believe this family was in Virginia and traveled with the Husteds (and possibly others) to Clark County, Ohio.John was there as early as 1809.
I was recently contacted by a Hainline genealogy cousin about this line and this is what we have pieced together so far...
1.John married 1) Elizabeth Husted, 25 Mar 1819, Clark County, Ohio. They had two children - Isaac and Mary Ann.This is documented in a Court case where Solomon Husted, brother to Elizabeth, wanted clear title to his deceased father's land.Elizabeth was "deceased" at that time but her two children were heirs of John Husted, the father of Solomon, Elizabeth and Mary Polly, wife of George.Their residence in Mercer County, Ohio was also mentioned. This document is on the Clark Rootsweb site.
2.John married 2)MRS Mary Miller 11 Dec 1823 in Clark County, Ohio and we think their children were John through Elsa.I suppose it is possible that Mary brought a child or two into this marriage. We have not discovered that yet.Mary is buried in the Roebuck Cemetery - died 1836.
3.John married 3) Mary Ellen Nelson 30 April 1837 in Mercer County, Ohio. They had Elizabeth.Mary Ellen died in 1853 and is also in the Roebuck Cemetery.
4.John married (?) 4)Mary Aughenbaugh 25 Feb 1851 in Mercer County, Ohio. They had Mariah J and Mary appeared to die in childbirth.Since Mary Ellen did not die until 1853 and he married Mary Aughenbaugh in 1851, I do believe that this marriage is to the son, John, b about 1825.My Hainline connections think it is the father. The above marriage records do not support that. But I have not personally investigated all the records in Mercer County, so this is a maybe until proven either way.
5.John married 5)Delilah Baker Brandon/Brudin 8 Nov 1855.She seemed to bring her two children to this marriage (see 1860 census)... or was this marriage his son John?
My Hainline genealogy cousins have a Hainline bible which states their Isaac was born in 1815.I have not seen a copy of that but have requested it.Since Isaac was identified in a court case as a child of Elizabeth Husted Hainline, I believe that.
The records on brother George is about as complicated as John.Only we believe that the transcriber of the cemetery records have mixed up the dates of his two wives. The genealogy cousins have a probate that states that Christine died in 1889.We have someone who is going to try to find the stones and take digital pictures to clarify this.
