Charlotte: Our lines are cousins, originating back to Richard Thomas Haile of Essex, VA. He had a large family but your line is from one son Thomas, whereas my research line is from another son, Benjamin. My line went due south, whereas your line went southwest. Thomas and Bens mother was Elizabeth Gatewood Haile. I hope this agrees with your information, but I think we found the link! Thanks for your info.! I do know that the Hailes had plantation property in Missouri - that's originally where Thomas and Serena were headed but couldn't get on the wagon train so they took a boat to Florida where some friends had settled.
