Reuben Hail was born 1802 in Tennessee. He appears in the 1830 census in Smith CO TN. He married Lucy Weaver in about 1819. She died. Lucy's sister, Martha, married William Taylor and they lived in Nashville. In 1817, they had a son named William F. Taylor. The elder William Taylor died in the before his son was 17. In the 1830's, Reuben Hail moved to Greene CO MO. At about the same time, William and his mother,Martha, moved to MO. William and several families named Taylor lived close to Reuben Hail. Reuben married Martha Weaver Taylor. William F. Taylor married Elizabeth Ellen Inman(who was a niece of William's mother). Martha Weaver Taylor Hail then died. Living nearby with one of the Taylor families, was the sister of Elizabeth Ellen Inman Taylor, Maryann Inman(another niece of Reuben's deceased wife, Martha).Reuben married Maryann Inman in 1852.The Reuben Hail and William F. Taylor families moved to Merced County, California. Maryann Inman Hail gave birth to twin girls. Only one lived. Maryann died soon after arriving in California. Reuben served as a Justice of the Peace in MO and CA. He died in 1873 and is buried in Plainsburg, CA. His relative by marriage, William F. Taylor, has his bio in the Merced CO.,CA history book, written about 1910. If you know who Reuben's parents were, please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you. brian in springfield mo
