I have a different problem re: Haggets (or Haggetts) of Somerset County.

My ggggrandfather was named Adam Westlake. He was born in and lived all his life in Somerton, Somerset County. His daughter Caroline was my gggrandmother.

According to the Census of 1841 and the Census of 1851, Adam and his wife Harriet lived on Kirkham Street in Somerton. She was born in Bath, but I have been unable to find any records for her, other that the Census records, and her burial record in Somerton Parish Register.

I have reason to believe that her maiden name may have been Hagget, as that is the middle name of her first child, George Hagget Westlake, who was born about 1814. He was baptized in the Somerton parish church on February 2, 1816.

George apparently lived to be about age 23, having been buried on October 16, 1837.

It seems to have been a family tradition to give the mother's maiden name as the middle name of the first son, but that does not prove anything.

If anybody out there knows anything about this family, I would appreciate hearing from you.
