Hi,
I have a relation by the name of Manassa Boyle who came with his family from Donegal in 1838 I believe. He had two brothers that I know of: Patrick C.(P.C.) Boyle and Edward Boyle. P.C. worked in the oil business for Rockefeller and owned the newspaper, The Oil City Derrick. I believe his family is still involved with that paper. Edward, in about 1851 as a boy of sixteen, crossed the Isthmus of Panama to reach the California Gold Rush. He travelled to Nevada and worked in the silver mining business and eventually became a Nevada State Senator and his son became the 13th governor of Nevada.
