Ora Haggard b 1874 is my g grandmother. In 1989 she married John Richard Durham b 1843 (3rd marriage). He was the son of William T. Durham born 1809 living in Rockcastle, Ky. 1880 Census Records show Ora J. Haggard age 6 with Elizabeth Haggard 46 (Cousin to Rebecca per census) and Albert Haggard 21 living with Rebecca Mullins 59, Micajah Mullins 22 and Ellen Watson child. A huge family of Mullins is next on the census record. Their names are Josiah, Bell, Jackson, Elizabeth, William and Emily. This whole scenario is in Rockcastle, Kentucky (Brodhead)
Is Elizabeth Haggard, Ora's mother, my gg grandmother? Does anyone know her maiden name, was it Mullins? And does anyone know her parents names? The rumor is there is Cherokee in our blood from the Durham side of the family, maybe its the Haggard side instead. So does Durham/Haggard ring a bell with anyone out there? Ora had became very ill and eventually had an extreme case of elephantiasis. This is a brick wall for me. I do have some information coming to me on Ora J. and John Durham from a Durham family genealogist.
