Do you have this will? A note........many people are recording this John Haggard as John "Samuel" Haggard, but I have not seen any proof that his middle name is "Samuel".....IT IS TURNER HAGGARD SON OF JOHN who is my line. Turner married to Martha OLIVER, and then to Rebecca ALLEN Compary-(Haggard)-Cameron. Turner died in Taney County, Missouri.......
WILL OF JOHN HAGGARD
I, JOHN Haggard, being weak in body but in perfect mind and memory do
certify this to be my last will and testament - that is FIRST OF ALL I
recommend my soul to God who gave it and body to the grave to be buried
in a decent Christian burial and all my estate both real and personal I
bequeath in the following manner:
VIS: FIRST of all I give to my oldest son, SAMUEL Haggard, that 60 acre
tract of land which calls for beginning on a sycamore on Ladd's line and
runs round and includes the plantation - one building where John Green
formerly lived.
I ALSO give to NATHANIEL Haggard, my second son, that tract of land lying
on Clinch River say beginning on a mulberry on the river Ladd's lower
corner running with that line to the chestnut corner, thence square off
west course to a conditional line between myself and Mason, thence along
(P?) line to a walnut on the river, thence up the river to the beginning.
I ALSO bequeath to each of my daughters a feather bed as good as the
nature of the case will permit of when they have need of the same.
AND LAST of all I will and bequeath to my WIFE ANN all the residue of my
estate both real and personal not herein otherwise disposed of to be at
her entire disposal during her lifetime and at her decease to be equally
divided between my two youngest sons TURNER and JOHN.
I ALSO appoint Nelson Ladd and GRAY HAGGARD my executors that after my
decease they man enforce this will as the law directs, given under my
hand and seal this 17th day of February, 1826.

JOHN HAGGARD, JULY TERM 1842
State of Tennessee:
Be it remembered that on this 10th day of May 1842, personally appeared
before me, Austin Greene, clerk of Roane County, Gray Haggard, and a
Nelson Ladd, executors of the last will and testament of John Haggard,
deceased, and made a settlement of the estate as follows, TO-WIT:
They having never returned any inventory to court I referred to the will
of the deceased in which he devised all of his personal and real estate
to his wife Ann during her life, with the exception of two pieces of land
he devised to Samuel Haggard and Nathaniel Haggard, and on settlement
said executors reported that they have received and sold property
belonging to said estate to the amount of $15, cash received from N.
(Nathaniel) Haggard.
Amount of assets $226.87
Cash received from Wm. Dorin 5.00
And on settlement said executors produced $231.87
and filed the following vouchers, to-wit:
1. Affidavit of Gray Haggard for monies paid out 237.46
2. Allowed for services 20.00
3. To clerk for settlement and recording 2.50
4. To Deputy Sheriff I. Mounger for summons .75 $260.71
Showing by the affidavits of Gray Haggard, and the allowance made to him
for his services. The estate of John Haggard, deceased, due said Gray
Haggard, the sum of $28.835, all of which is respectfully submitted to
the worshipful court, the foregoing settlement was continued until the
14th day of June 1842, when it was completed with Gray Haggard.

Be it remembered that on this 1st day of August 1842, personally appeared
before me, Austin Greene, clerk of the county of Roane, Gray Haggard, one
of the executors of the estate of John Haggard, deceased, and made
settlement and returns, to-wit: Said executors reported that the return
heretofore made following sums were omitted to have been returned, by him
to-wit:
To articles bought at sale by himself $2.75
To cash received from widow 2.00
To cash received from Holloway 4.00
To the balance of a note on William Dow 5.00 $13.75
Only having received from said estate to said Gray Haggard, as executor,
the sum of $18.00 and 8 1/2 cents. Which is respectfully submitted to
court, witness my hand at office the date above written.
