I found Henry Hagey on 1840 census in Jackson twp Fountain co IN with his name spelled Henry Elgey. I suppose if you pronounced Hagey as Hell-gey you might spell it Elegy. I know Henry's mother spoke almost no English so I'm assuming he might have had a pronounced accent.
Please write to my new email if you can help with this family.
