I've traced my family tree back to Ireland where John Hagan (born about 1821) married Catherine Finney (born about 1831). They had a son John born in Ireland about 1850. Shortly after he was born they emmigrated to Lancashire England. There is a family story of two brothers going to England and three to the USA from Ireland.
My current name is Hagan but it could be that it should be any of the following :Hagin; Egin; Eagan.
I would be grateful of any help
