I had always wondered why my family pronounced our name-"Hay-gee", instead of Hay-ga. I found that in the census of 1900 my family spelled their name as Hagy "Hay-gee". I noted that it was that way until 1920, when they changed the spelling to Haga. My father had said that their had been a dispute in the family that caused the change, but he never knew what had caused the change. I still have cousins that spell the name Hagy.
