Check with some of the Spears - Susan Ingram does a lot of research. Melissa Haga married a Spear - one of the spear aunts always referred to the Haga line as "Pennsylvania Swiss" and since a lot of the folks in this neck of the woods immigrated to ohio after the revolution from Pennsylvania, maybe they started out around the Lancaster area of Pennsylvania after arriving in the US...just a surmise. But they might have originally been from Switzerland or Alsace Lorraine.
