Family tradition says that Elisha was the son of Benjamin Haden b. 1721 in North Carolia, m. abt 1743 to Margaret Douglas.Benjamin is supposed to be the oldest son (possibly born in England) of Anthony Haden and Margaret Douglas. However, there is a well documented site on this couple that does not include Benjamin as their son.She/he also acknowledges that my family has claimed there was a Benjamin. She also states that our family spelled our name Hadden while in Kentucky.Ironically, both the Hadens and the Haddens (if they are two separate families) were in the same counties in Virginia and in Kentucky.
At the Mormon site, I found these siblings for Elisha:John, b. 1744, Joel, b. 1746, Benamin, b. 1748, William, b. 1750, Joseph, b. 1757.They were born in Virginia.I have not contacted this researcher yet because there was no e-mail address, so have no idea of how reliable this is.
A great-great uncle who was doing research in the 20s and 30s said he could not find any siblings for Elisha.
