John Hopkins, born 1709 New Kent Co., Va. and left his Will dated 29 August 1765, probated on 3 July 1766, Hanover Co. Va., named his son, Peter Hopkins, who married
Mary Moormon. She married (2)....Haden.
Peter's sister, Sarah Hopkins, married John Grubbs of Hanover Co. Va. John Grubbs had a school of 25 students in
Hanover County which he left to his son, Anderson Grubbs and wife, Sarah Winston, and John took the rest of his family to Barren Co., Kentucky, in 1803, and left his
Will in 1819 in Barren County. He named his town, Glasgow,
in Barren County.
