John Haden and wife, Jane Crews' son, Francis Haden, born
before 1820, married Elizabeth Crews, daughter of David
Morton Crews Sr. and wife, Elizabeth "Betsy" Smith, in
Monroe Co., Kentucky. John Haden is buried in the Strode
Cemetery on the Cumberland/Monroe County line. I know
nothing about John Haden and his wife, Jane Crews, and would like to know them. Elizabeth Crews was my David Morton Crews Jr.'s sister. Their grandfather, Redman Crews,
was born in 1764 in Charlotte Co., Va., son of John Crews,
born c1736 in New Kent Co., Va. and wife, Sarah Redman,
daughter of William Redman Sr. and first wife, Ann Henson,
of Charlotte Co., Va. Betsy Smith-Crews was born in 1792
in Mercer Co., Ky., her father, Jeremiah Smith was born in
1765 in Amherst Co., Va. near Tobacco Row Mtn, Lexington
Parish, and died in 1817, leaving his Will, in Barren Co.,
Kentucky. (Monroe County was formed in 1820 from Barren and
Cumberland Cos.)
