While researching my direct ancestor William Trayler (a Revolutionary War soldier), I came across the will of Thomas Collins on which William Trayler was one of the witnesses in Spartanburg SC dated 22 Aug 1796. This will was posted on your Haddock family notes. Along with that posting in the very next paragraph, I noticed references to John Hancock and a marriage to a Sarah in Randolph County, NC. I believe that this John Hancock may also be an ancestor of mine. My John Hancock came from Virginia and had a son (among others)named Vachel. My Hancocks moved from NC to Southern Indiana in the early 1800s. My 2nd Great Grandfather, James Hancock is listed as being born in Virginia, however, we have a broken trail of evidence between North Carolina and earlier. Cane you lend any assistance?
