I am almost certain that the Charles Haddock of Massachusetts that you speak of was not from the Essex Haddock line. I once did a research study for someone that was of that line of Haddock families. This was several years ago, and so if my fuzzy memory treats me well - I will say that he was Lancashire.
There is an old genealogical book on his family and it states where he was born, and when he came to the US - and it was not Essex. I found it in the genealogical section of some library out east. Maybe somewhere in Massachusetts, but I am not sure where.
I think that somehow he comes down from the line of Haddocks that are connected with the writing of the Catholic Bible in Lancashire. I can't remember all the details but I am fairly certain that he had a Lancashire connection. I hope that this helps.
