Hello all.

I find the Arthur Hadden family in Aberdeen in the Old Parish Register (OPR) - Arthur, Margaret, and William Christened 1835-1839. My great-great-grandfather was Christened in Inverkeithing in 1835. I must wonder about this Hadden family and the Haldane family (since the names are somewhat interchangeable in the 17th, 18th, and even 19th centuries).

If you have any Hadden males in theis family, it would be terrific if they would join the Y-chomosome DNA study I have started (info in another post on this site).

It would tell if there is a likelihood we share a common ancestor.

I cannot find a paper trail yet for you Haddens to any Haldane family, but it is possible.

The oldest Hadden I can trace back to, Roger de Hadden, was born ca. 1100 a.d.

Feel free to contact me.
