Hi, I wonder if you would mind looking at your database for another John Hadden please. This one appeared from no-where and married Hannah Jackson on 9 May 1744 at St Michael's, Southampton, UK. John was a Royal Marine and all the children we know about were also in the army, or in the case of the girls, married army people. The only birth record we have found was for Susannah who was baptised in Rochester, Kent on 9 July 1762. Hannah died in Rochester in May 1790 so I'm wondering if John either died or got a desk job sometime after Susannah was born. We have found no records for the older children but know they existed because various other sources name them as Susannah's siblings. The eldest son was called James Murray Hadden which sounds very Scottish to me so I wonder if John was a Scot who came south with the marines. Jenny.
