I have finished going through Tax Digest Records (1799-1834) for two William Haddens living in Jefferson Co. GA. Conclusion: William Hadden Jr. married to Elizabeth Hannah lived on Duharts Creek north and west of Queensborough. William Hadden Sr. married to Mary Gordon lived on Big Creek east of Queensborough. These were two separate William Haddens not one married twice. In addition, William Hadden Sr lived on an original land grant while William Hadden Jr aquired his from original owners. I know many of you have been researching the difference between the two William Haddens in Jefferson Co. GA and am sharing this info with you. I still don't know which of these two was in the original group of brothers William, James and John (who died in route) who came from Ireland in 1769. I suspect William Hadden Sr was the original brother and William Hadden Jr was the son of John. John's son, William was made a ward of William Hadden Sr. I have no proof. Do any of you?
