I found out a little bit more about my grandfather, and maybe somebody out there can help me. According to the 1930 census, his mother is Annie (Brodie) Hackworth and was born in 1975 in Canada. I have to assume that because she was listed as head of household, that she was widowed at this time. My grandfathers sister was listed as Lillian A. Hackworth, and was born around 1909 in Washington. My Grandfathers father is listed as born in Kentucky, but I don't know his first name but apparently went by Nick. Does anyone have any kind of information on the Kentucky clan that fits in with this?
