I am descended from Michael through his grandaughter Margaret (dau of Jacob), who married Henry Lyons/Lines.

First Generation

1. Michael HACKLEMAN. Born ca 1732 in Germany. Immigrated on 13 Sep 1749 in the “Christian” from Rotterdam to Cowes, England and arrived on 13 Oct 1749 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Michael died in Abbeville District, South Carolina bef 25 Nov 1808 (date of inventory); he was 76.

Owned two slaves at the time of his death, Lydia and Esther. Their value in his inventory was $475.00.

1770 Leopard’s Creek, NC
1784 Moved to Abbeville District, SC
1790 census lived in Abbeville District, SC owned 1 slave

In Mar 1751 when Michael was 19, he married Elisabeth SAILORS, daughter of Abraham SAILORS, in Pennsylvania. Born ca 1736/1739. Elisabeth died in South Carolina.

They had the following children:

2. Johann Jacob "Jacob" HACKLEMAN. Born on 16 Jul 1752 in north of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Christened on 16 Aug 1752 in Springfield Lutheran CH., Springfield Twp., Bucks Co, PA. Johann Jacob "Jacob" died in Rush County, Indiana on 16 Jan 1829; he was 76. Buried in Old Family Graveyard, Rush County, Indiana. Occupation: Farmer. Religion: Baptist. .

Jacob’s godparents were John Jacob Hasel, son of Elias Hasel, and Anna Maria Seiler, daughter of Peter Seiler.

Joined the Turkey Creek Baptist Church, Abbeville District, SC on 8 Sep 1786. Dismissed on 11 Aug 1791 to organize the Hogskin Meeting House (later renamed Little River Meeting House. This is located near the present town of Due West.

On 20 Sep 1773 when Johann Jacob "Jacob" was 21, he first married Mary OSBORN(E), daughter of Thomas OSBORN(E) & Mary "Molly", in North Carolina. Born on 25 Jun 1754. Mary died in Rush County, Indiana on 8 Jun 1824; she was 69. Buried in Old Family Graveyard, Rush County, Indiana. Religion: Baptist.

On 9 Nov 1826 when Johann Jacob "Jacob" was 74, he third married Rebecca McCARTY, in Rush County, Indiana. Rebecca died on 22 Feb 1845 in Rush County, Indiana. Buried in Rushville Cem., Rush County, Indiana.

3. Margaretha Catharina HACKLEMAN. Born on 25 Nov 1753 in Pennsylvania. Christened on 26 Jan 1754 in Williams Twp Congregation, Redington, Bucks (now Northampton) Co. PA.

Godparents were Johann Michael Lutz and his wife Margaretha.

4. Lydia HACKLEMAN. Born in Pennsylvania.

5. Johann Conrad HACKLEMAN. Born on 27 Apr 1758 in Pennsylvania. Christened on 7 May 1758 in Williams Twp Congregation, Redington, Bucks (now Northampton) Co. PA. Johann Conrad died in Columbus, Lowndes County, Mississippi in 1832/1833; he was 73.

Conrad’s godparents were Johann Conrad Dankel and his wife Catharina.

6. John HACKLEMAN. Born ca 1772. John died in North Carolina aft 1792; he was 20. .

Military: Revolutionary War. Served from 10 Nov 1778 to 10 Aug 1779.

7. George E. HACKLEMAN. Born ca 1770. George E. died in Lowndes County, Mississippi ca 1843; he was 73. Buried in Lebanon Cem., Lowndes County, Mississippi.

George E. married Mary HENRY. Mary died bef 1840.
