Hello,
My name is Wayne Mitchell Hachie and I am trying to find any information and the orgin of my sir name "Hachie". Myself and a friend have tried searching my sir name and have found nothing at all. You would think that the sir name Hachie does not exist, however this name does go back to the 1800's and our roots are from the Bathurst New Brunswick area.
I have the Hachie family bible which has basic recorded information as early as 1864. My grandfather Edmund Joesph Hachie was born in Bathurst New Brunswick December 14th 1894. His wife Effie M. Brown was born on October 17th 1896 in the same place. Her parents Tweedie Brown and Margret White were married on April 9th 1895. Tweedie brown's parents Philip Brown and Margret White (I do not know the connection between Tweedie's and Philip's wives having the same names) were married on November 13th 1879. It is not easy to figure out who is who when all my ancestor's have passed away.
My grandparents Edmund Joseph Hachie and Effie Matilda Brown were married in Springhill Nova Scotia on August 22nd 1916, they bore 7 children. My father Gerald Edmund Hachie was born on October 19th 1922. My father married my mother Winnifred Sara Lavers of River Philip Nova Scotia on August 19 1942. They moved to Toronto in the the late 1940's and I was the only one of three children born there.
I would be very pleased if anyone out there that knows anything about my family would consider contacting me with such information. I would be happy to share the family bible information with anyone that would be seriously interested in origins of the family name HACHIE.
