Try the 1870 Michigan census (free) online. I ran across a couple of George Hack's. There are also plenty of Hock's, as well as Haak, Hake, and even Haag is a possibility. Also plenty of names with the first four letters as "Hack." I have found that names were often written down wrong to begin with--or they may reflect original spellings. My ggg-grandfather was Adam Faber, but his family is listed under Adam "Favre" in the 1870 census.
