I have an Andrew Hawk/e (father's name Andreas Haack) who moved from Berks County, PA into Frederick County, MD as of 1778. In researching the land records that the kind folks at http://www.mdlandrec.net have made available to us, there was apparently another gaggle of Hawk/Hawke/Hauck already there. In particular there was a Peter Hawke who teamed up with Christian Shoemaker on some land speculation. I am currently trying to sort my line from the other line. If you have info about the Frederick County, Maryland line of Hawk (Hauck, etc.), I'd appreciate hearing from you.
