The info I have suggested that John and James emigrated possibly from Ireland. The time frame is suggested around 1820-1830.
They may have initially settled in the Great Lakes area.
John married a Cherokee woman and may have had 5 sons (John Goldsberry Hill, James, Richard, Thomas, and William) and 1 daughter...Bassina.
John G. Hill was born in Tennessee in 1837.
He moved to southern Illinois when he was young. Enlisted at age of 23 in Union Army.
Married Delila Ann Bullar 11Oct1863
Buried in DeSoto, Il Died 13 Dec 1877
I am curious about John and James and of course his bride the Cherokee woman.
