I looked at the Roma board first but as it is nearly empty thought I would post here instead. When I was young my grandmother told me that my grandfather was Romany. I thought she was mispronouncing Romanian - now I know better. She said other people call it being a Gypsy. At the time I was too young to know to ask questions and now everyone to ask is gone. Does anyone have ANY information on the surnames Baker and May? Thomas Baker and Viola May were my ggrandparents. I still need to find where the May line is from but am fairly certain that the Baker is English. I haven't found the documentation for it but have been told we originate from Obediah Baker. Can (Will) someone please help me ??!!!
