There is a pretty good writeup of the Gwynn origins in the book COLONIAL FAMILIES OF THE SOUTHERN STATES OF AMERICA by Stella Pickett Hardy. Vol 1 of American Gentile Birth (I don't know the author) says about the same thing. Vol XV of Encyclopedia Britannica, 1951 edition, p. 281 has additional information. In short, the family has roots in Wales antedating the Christian era. Notify Administrator about this message?
