History of the Great Kanawha Valley, done back in 1891 has a bio on Henry GWINN son of Andrew gives Andrew's birth as Shenandoah Valley and he of Irish descent see p. 56 if you look at an original you need vol. 2. Andrew came with his father it sounds like to Cabell when he was 16.

Note - Wikipedia describes "Shenandoah Valley" as: The Shenandoah Valley is both a geographic valley and cultural region of western Virginia and West Virginia. The valley is bound to the east by the Blue Ridge Mountains, to the west by the eastern front of the Ridge-and-valley Appalachians (excluding Massanutten Mountain), to the north by the Potomac River and to the south by the James River. The cultural region covers a larger area that includes all of the valley plus the Virginia highlands to the west, and the Roanoke Valley to the south. It is physiographically located within the Ridge and Valley province and is a portion of the Great Appalachian Valley.

Geography
Named for the river which stretches much of its length, the Shenandoah Valley encompasses seven counties in Virginia (Frederick County, Clarke County, Warren County, Shenandoah County, Page County, Rockingham County, and Augusta County) as well as two counties in West Virginia (Berkeley County and Jefferson County). Between Roanoke in the south and Harpers Ferry in the north, where the Shenandoah River joins the Potomac, the Valley contains municipalities of various sizes like Staunton, Harrisonburg, Winchester, Lexington, Waynesboro, and Front Royal. The central section of the Shenandoah Valley is split in half by the Massanutten Mountain range, with the smaller associated Page Valley lying to its east and the Fort Valley within the mountain range.

Andrew served in the War of 1812 (not in combat). He served in a Virginia militia unit for about six months (19 Sep 1812 to 29 Mar 1813) and participated in the construction of Fort Meigs (near present Toledo, OH) but was discharged before it was attacked by Tecumseh. He also served in the Cabell Co. militia in February 1815, after the war was officially over. [Jaye Drummond]

kreiehart@hrtr.net - has GEDCOM file .. saying Andrew's father was Alexander,

Some people I've talked to have confused this Alexander with the Alexander (b.1800) son of Robert Gwinn and Sarah "Sally Thompson, but this Alexander is way too young, because Andrew was born 15 Jul 1794, Shenandoah Valley, Virginia.

To answer your orginal question about who is Andrew's parents ..... "Currently Unknown"

Possible relative... Maybe ..? ? ? ?
