Hello Joyce,

I tried to reply to your email address and it wouldn't go through so I'm reply here.

Thanks for responding. My Elias Simpson Bowden was born 1/23/1793 in Franklin, NC and died 9/5/1878 in Fentress County, TN. He served in the War of 1812. After the war, he came to Fentress County and started working on Bailey Owen's farm. He married Bailey's daughter Mary Owen in 1821. Her birthdate was 1/24/1804 and she died 8/11/1877. I have that Elias was the son of John Bowden, born 4/10/1750 in Isle of Wight, Virginia and died in September of 1828. I have seen Fentress County publications that stated that Elias was the son of John Bowden. What I'm wanting to find out is if we are descended from Pierre Bowdoin.

I'd appreciate any help you can give me with the Bowden's.

Thanks!

Cathy Moore
