I don't have any specific information for you, but perhaps he is Levi Goins. Spelling in the old days was pretty random for last names.
check out the Gowen Research Foundation online for Levi plus different spellings of the last name Goin, Goins, Going, Goynes, Guinn, Gowen etc..
I found some references to levi Goan or goin by typing in "levi Goin gowen research foundation" in an ordinary google wordsearch. You will find three references. You should try "Levi" with other variations of the last name too.
I am researching the descendants of John Going and Mary Keife of Lunenberg virginia in the 1700's. One of their grandsons may have been Levin Goin or Going or goins, etc.
There is much information on the Going/Goin, including some bible tree information, copies of deeds and wills etc. Some of it is on the internet at the Gowen Research foundation. Others I would be happy to give you sites. I will look through my information and see if I can find levi on a will.
I would like to warn you that some of the Goin are melungion, perhaps olive skinned, perhaps dark skinned. This causes a lot of controversy for some genealogists. Apparently, according to the Gowen research foundation information, levy goin/goan was dark skinned and fled to Kentucky. This may not be your Levi but there are MANY melunigon Goins, so it is not unlikely if he is a "goins". If you are unfamiliar with the term melungion, read my post at the Gines message board or contact me if you are interested.
Pass on that people should try different spellings of last names when doing research. The Gowen Research Foundation has over 10,000 pages of posted letters and research on Gowen sounding names, so it is a treasure trove for "Gowen" researches. (Although it is not current, complete or even necessarily completely accurate, but it is a fantastic resource).
I will probably put up a little message about that too, since I think many people are actually looking for "goins" but don't know it.
Hope this may be of help.
by the way, the goins is a huge family. One of the Goin soms had 20 children or something like that. There was probably more than one levi Goin or Goins or Going. Not all Goins are dark even if some of their ancestors were. Most melungion had fine features and dark or olive skin. Contact me if you want to know more about melungion.
