We are very interested in sharing information with you concerning Logan Gwin and/or ancestors; however, what we have is rather limited. The only information we have connecting Logan & Clarissa to Joseph Gwin is a copy of the guardianship papers from Bath Co., VA dated 1835 to Benjamin Fawcett. Very interested in what you have about Logan's land patent in Highland Co., VA in 1851. That same year Logan & Elizabeth (Wright) had a son, Marshall B. (26 Feb. 1851). We have found a marriage record on Clarissa Gwin to James H. Stuart dated 5 Feb. 1850, in Highland Co., VA. But no further record. We had thought Marshall was born in West VA but the land patent in 1851 may indicate they were still in VA. We really lose track of them until there is a marriage record for Logan Guinn and Elizabeth Golting in Tazewell Co., IL in 1868. Have no idea what happened to Elizabeth Wright or when Logan left VA. Also, we are rather curious as to why and when the Gwin changed to Guinn. Logan Guinn and his family moved on to Sumner Co. KS by 1881 when Marshall married Katie Fisher.
How are you connected to the Gwin's? Logan was my great-great grandfather. Do you have any other information on the Gwins? We do have a picture of Logan.
