I've been desparately seeking a connection from our Gwaltney line to the line of Gwaltney's that immigrated. Since my Grandpa Gwaltney deserted (by some stories) my Grandma, dad and aunt, I had little to go on. But THANKS to gen forum I've gone back to James T. Gwaltney who married Josie Funkhouser and had 5 children; William, Clarence, Paul, Julia, & Emma.
I'd been told that James may have been the one that came from Wales for better job/life, but I've no proof yet. His son William was born in Illinois and they were also in Missouri.
I've seen and been told that 3 Gwaltney brothers came from Wales and settled around GA, NC, VA & TN, but don't have a connection there as of yet. Wondered if any in the book. Any help greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
